Updates/planned updates based upon Testing Session
This is the sixth devlog for my game Don’t make me run I’m full of chocolate. This log will detail future updates and plans based on the first game testing session.
Overall, the testing session went well. The game is in somewhat of a playable state. From the anonymous surveys I received back, I found a few changes that could be made. First was the difficulty, players found it easy to avoid the enemies. I plan on finding a better speed for the enemies to make the game harder. If I have time, I could also try and implement and difficulty option in the menu.
Secondly that the gameplay loop was very limited. I think an idea for improving the game could be implementing different chocolates to give players abilities. This could spice up gameplay. I will try and implement this if I have time.
Finally, I am still having an issue with the effects when collecting chocolate. The particle effect seems to work for every 2-3 chocolates collected.
On a positive note, the players seemed to enjoy the sounds and music in the game.
P.S sorry for the lack of photo as gif in this log however it is difficult to add pictures to these suggestions.
